A couple of weeks ago, I blogged about my 10-year journey through a variety of coffee houses. The blog entry, The Lifetime Value of a Customer chronicled my success and frustration with the range of coffee comfort in cities from San Francisco to Las Vegas.
When I discovered Maui Wowi Coffee & Smoothies, I knew the vibe was right. So, since I declared my loyalty to Maui Wowi, they returned the favor.
On Day Three of their new venture, owner and Big Kahuna, Paul Goldberg, had something waiting for me… a special sign, identifying one of the tables as Andy’s Hut (more completely: Welcome to Andy’s Hut).
The sign was that one simple phrase, on Maui Wowi letterhead, displayed in a Lucite counter-top sign holder. Imagine my surprise, when I walked in the door, and saw my personal welcome sign. So now, most mornings, if you come into Maui Wowi, you’ll find me at my designated table, sipping Kona coffee or Maui Mango tea, reading the morning paper or working on my laptop.
Unlike other coffee houses, the staff and owner at Maui Wowi seem disappointed when I leave. What a concept!

Now ask yourself this question: What are you doing to make prospects and customers feel special and appreciated? Generally, in person, and when they come to your office.
If you don’t have a Customer Appreciation Plan, devise one and implement it.

Nice to find a place you can enjoy and feel at home.
I’ll visit you there soon.
