The AAYBG in-store customer service was also about a two. The owners aren't nice, they are actually very rude along with some of their staff members. It would just be morally wrong to close without giving the brides their dresses.

Interesting post. I like Website Grader, too. One caveat I would offer, though - a site can have a high grade without being well-designed to sell visitors. The grade primarily indicates how well the site does in maximizing search engine friendliness. That's great for getting traffic to come to the site, but doesn't tell you much about how they react when they get there ... and, it sounds like AAY would have a very hard time keeping brides engaged even if they improved their search engine friendliness! It's really important for wedding vendors to start understanding traffic patterns on their site, developing ways to gather contacts, learn the sources of their traffic, etc.

For vendors whose hosts don't provide good analysis tools, l like a free tool called Web Log Expert (http://www.weblogexpert.com). The "lite" version is free!

I LOVE the website grader reports - it was easy to get my website scores up from 30 to over 70...any many of my collegues found it didn't take much to get over 40 points...it's the least anyone can do to take simple steps at improving their website.
