Recently, I posted an item titled: Does the media find your website when planning a story?
Take a moment to read that post, if you haven’t already done so.

… the crew from Fox 5 Vegas came and interviewed Jessica, and recorded some lesson time with two of her students, Deann and Alex (D and A). The following Monday, the station was in touch with her, and told her that the second would be delayed until the following week, because the local anchors would be doing the lead in.
She was disappointed, but only momentarily. I thought it was likely that with the anchors doing the lead-in, we should conclude that the story might be getting as much as 2 minutes. And THAT would be a GREAT thing.
The end result: Jessica’s business, Las Vegas Vocal Training received almost two minutes of air time. Happily, the station made excellent choices from the footage with her. She has been receiving a steady stream of inquiries for the last week. So far, the inquiries have translated into seven new students and counting.
The lifetime value of a customer: When calculating the value of the result, the math includes the price of a lesson, the frequency of lessons (most are weekly), and the expected during of a singer-coach relationship.
It doesn’t take much math to compute that this simple, short piece of news coverage has provided huge credibility and direct impact on Jessica’s micro-business.
So the question remains: What are you doing to attract media inquiries to your website and business?
