On Tuesday, September 21st, some 1500 wedding industry professionals will converge on the Las Vegas Convention Center to experience the Wedding MBA.
In the days leading up to the conference, I will some few suggestions about how to get the most out of the intensive gathering.
You’ll probably know quite a few people at the conference. If by ‘quite a few’, that means, say, 250, there will be over 1000 people you don’t know.
For all the obvious reasons, that means you have to have the universal currency of networking: Business Cards.
I don’t mean 50 or 100 cards. I mean a box or two, 500 or 1000 cards. 500 will probably do, and it’s fine if you don’t use them all, but 100 will likely not be enough.
On the local front, it’s always wise to keep a box of 500 cards in your car, and a stash of 50 in every purse, jacket or suit coat pocket in your wardrobe. There is nothing more frustrating than showing up at networking event or mixer, only to find you are out of cards.
At the Wedding MBA, you are part of the ultimate networking and educational situation. Having a sufficient supply of business cards is mandatory.
