It is less than one month until Valentine’s Day. Personally, I am somewhat distracted by the Nevada Presidential caucus and the various primaries through February 5th (at least). If I allow myself to be distracted for that long, suddenly Valentine’s Day will be immediately upon me.
Way back when, I worked as an ad agency Account Executive. We developed a Valentine’s card that included a group photo of the ad agency staff, with the headline, “There’s a little love in everything we do.” It was a smash hit, and I’ve never forgotten it.
Here are a number of general and wedding marketing ideas you should consider implementing for Valentine’s Day.
- If you didn’t manage to send holiday cards (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s), then you can play catch-up with Valentine’s cards to clients and customers. This includes both past wedding customers and industry contacts.
- Even if you did send holiday cards, you still should consider sending cards to your industry contacts, and perhaps a small gift basket to your platinum contacts.
- While gift baskets are always good, there are now opportunities to buy customized M&M’s and Hershey Kisses (among other Hershey items).
While you’re at it, don’t forget your spouse or significant other. And, at the minimum, some distant friends should get a card or an e-card.
There is something exceptionally positive about surprising someone, and putting a smile on their face. You simply cannot beat a sincere AND innovative message of appreciation to friends or clients. Don’t try to sell. Just express your true appreciation.
