It’s Bridal Show Season: Here’s an incentive reminder Post your wedding marketing videos on Youtube

give appreciation for Valentine’s DayIt is less than one month until Valentine’s Day. Personally, I am somewhat distracted by the Nevada Presidential caucus and the various primaries through February 5th (at least). If I allow myself to be distracted for that long, suddenly Valentine’s Day will be immediately upon me.

Way back when, I worked as an ad agency Account Executive. We developed a Valentine’s card that included a group photo of the ad agency staff, with the headline, “There’s a little love in everything we do.” It was a smash hit, and I’ve never forgotten it.

Here are a number of general and wedding marketing ideas you should consider implementing for Valentine’s Day.

  • If you didn’t manage to send holiday cards (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s), then you can play catch-up with Valentine’s cards to clients and customers. This includes both past wedding customers and industry contacts.
  • Even if you did send holiday cards, you still should consider sending cards to your industry contacts, and perhaps a small gift basket to your platinum contacts.
  • While gift baskets are always good, there are now opportunities to buy customized M&M’s and Hershey Kisses (among other Hershey items).

While you’re at it, don’t forget your spouse or significant other. And, at the minimum, some distant friends should get a card or an e-card.

There is something exceptionally positive about surprising someone, and putting a smile on their face. You simply cannot beat a sincere AND innovative message of appreciation to friends or clients. Don’t try to sell. Just express your true appreciation.

Do some of these, or all these, and you will stand out from the crowd.
